closing party/anniversary benefit for Gallery 825/LAAA: Thursday, July 22 6-8pm This exhibit operates on both personal and universal levels, addressing issues of intimacy, commitment and the individual strength that results from collective experience. Distance ÷ 3 evokes a layering of the sweet memories and the sense of loss and sadness that occur when friends are separated. Artists, Carol Es, Elizabeth Hoffman, and Midge Lynn, have shared a close bond for many years, supporting each other as fellow artists and friends. Last year Elizabeth Hoffman moved to Pennsylvania, leaving the trio to struggle to sustain the closeness they previously shared. The process of producing this exhibit, which includes both collaborative and singular work, has been an inspiring experience for these three, embracing the sharing of ideas via email, conference calls and shared materials mailed over 3000 miles.
